Exporters to Niger now need a Certificate of Conformity to clear Customs

Conformity Assessment Programme for Exports to Niger enforced from 1st April. All regulated products now need Certificate of Conformity to clear Customs. As of 1st April 2015, The Agence Nationale de Vérification de Conformité aux Normes (AVCN) in Niger, West Africa, enforced its new Conformity Assessment Programme (CAP) The CAP programme verifies the conformity of all regulated products in the respective exporting countries, ensuring they comply with applicable national, regional or international standards and technical regulations, protecting the health, safety and environment of Niger’s citizens from sub standard imported goods. Exporters to Niger are required to provide a Certificate of Conformity for Customs clearance and this is compulsory. This certificate can only be obtained from an Approved Inspection Body such as Intertek. Shipments arriving in Niger without the Certificate of Conformity will not clear Customs and could incur heavy fines or be returned to the country of export. Intertek have over 18 years experience in helping exporters meet the requirements of Conformity Assessment Programmes having introduced the very first one. We are approved by AVCN to issue the mandatory CoC for Niger and are available now to assist you. Full details of the Niger programme including the regulated product list can be found at www.intertek.com/government/product-conformity/exports/niger/ Contact us now at info.government@intertek.com to avoid your shipments being rejected in Niger or visit www.intertek.com/government for details of your local Intertek Country Office.
